[Games] rymdkapsel (Android)
There are some games that are just downright remarkable and it's hard to explain precisely why. Or they're just games that are hard to define - and I think rymdkapsel fits this mode really, really well. It has quickly become a game that I absolutely love even if I cannot pronounce its name.
I first found out about this game based on a friend's post on Google+ - and believe me, you can certainly get my attention with a game that was then described as a combination of Tetris, tower defense games and StarCraft. I mean seriously, wouldn't that kind of a description pique your curiosity? So I went for it despite it be a somewhat pricier game than what I'm willing to pays for in the mobile apps market.
But damn, the game is just amazing.

[Games] Lair Defense: Dungeon (Android)
So I've been trying out various games for Android ever since I purchases my ASUS Transformer TF101, and it has certainly been a rather interesting experience. And I'll admit that I have a certain penchant for tower defense games ever since Tobie first introduced them to me some time back.
But the nature of the Android Market Google Play Store means that there are a lot of, well, less than ideal games. And while this game rates a respectable 4.6 stars based on user feedback, for some reason the game just didn't quite appeal to me. I guess this will be one of those dissenting opinions.

[Games] Tower Defense: Lost Earth (Android)
So we recently acquired an ASUS EEE Pad Transformer TF101
This device counts as our first ever tablet, our first foray into the Android environment and probably the most gadgety purchase I've ever made apart from my Amazon Kindle 3. So expect more Android app reviews in the future, although primarily from the perspective of a tablet user and not a mobile phone user. There will be differences, I'm sure, and this game is probably a good example.
I love tower defense games - and I have Tobie to blame for this particular fascination. I guess it employs that slightly more strategic part of my brain that has enjoyed so many different real-time strategy games over the years. And that's a particular itch that I don't mind scratching, even on a "mere" casual gaming basis.
