As fun as it has been to follow these new adventures of Clint Barton as Hawkeye, one has to note that he isn't the only person to carry this particular name. From the pages of Young Avengers, we were introduced to Kate Bishop, who eventually took the name Hawkeye as well. Not Arrow Girl. Not Hawkingbird. Hawkeye. And this is all because she certainly had to skills to be worthy of the name.
So it was certainly an interesting change of pace when this volume of the Hawkeye comic book series decided to shift focus away from Barton and onto Bishop. After all, this is a comic about Hawkeye after all - so why not tell the stories of all Hawkeyes as well?
By now readers of the comic know quite well that Kate Bishop is pretty awesome on her own. She has been quite the scene-stealer in the various issues of this series thus far and this story arc really felt like quite the celebration of all the fan support for her character.

[Comics] Hawkeye Vol. 2 - Little Hits
My effort to review the current Hawkeye run using the collected editions as a basis continues on with Hawkeye Vol. 2 - Little Hits. Matt Fraction already won me over with the first few issues of this series and I've continued on with the comic since then. Both Tobie and I love it to bits, plus Barton is pretty much at his hottest in this comic since they didn't go all unrealistic hyper musculature and such.
Eye candy indulgence aside, the writing for this book remains wonderfully character-centric and funny as heck. There's great action, wonderful examples of how sequential art truly should be and of course Pizza Dog.
I think my biggest worry is that all of my reviews of these comics will end up sounding the same since I love them so much. The books are consistent in bringing in everything that I like about comic every single time. But then again, we also get some truly clever and inventive storytelling like what was masterfully demonstrated here.

[Comics] Hawkeye Vol. 1 - My Life as a Weapon
I think one of the more interesting quirks of The Avengers movies is how it highlighted how amazing Hawkeye is as a character. Sure, he doesn't have superpowers, but that's precisely what worked for Batman, and thus also works for him. The big difference is that Batman's real superpower is his wealth and Hawkeye has always been a lot closer to the ground across his various incarnations.
Hawkeye Vol. 1 - My Life as a Weapon is the compilation of of comics from the 2012 relaunch of the title. He has mostly been associated with the Avengers and thus most of his appearances have been bundled in with the team, so this comics represents a major push for the character. Thank you Hollywood.
Beyond how much potential this character has always had, they also attached a great creative team to the project to really make things work out. And thus this comic was born and the world is all the better for it since it is a genuinely good comic. And I didn't come into this adventure as a fan - I came in late after everyone started praising the run more and more.

[Comics] Hawkeye vs Deadpool
So yeah, my many recent Deadpool comics purchases because of various comiXology sales has resulted in practically a series of Deadpool comic book reviews. This is not necessarily a bad thing, and I suppose this will become super valuable once the new Deadpool movie finally comes out. Plus he's a lot of fun to write about, to be honest.
Hawkeye vs Deadpool is not a title I was expecting to happen. I could see no logical reason for the two characters to cross paths since Deadpool has always been more aligned with the mutant side of the Marvel Universe, so this felt a little out of character. But I've totally enjoyed the recent Hawkeye run (expect reviews soon!) and to have him interact with Deadpool did prove to be an interesting situation I wanted to see happen.
And while a lot of these crossover titles tend to be pretty shallow and cheesy, the same could be said of many Deadpool titles, so I suppose it worked. And to have their respective narrative styles brought together in this one comic did result in a pretty crazy story that enjoyed quite a fair bit.
