[Movies] Iron Man 3 (2013)

When a movie reaches its third installment, eyebrows tend to rise as expectations drop. Let's face it - sequel syndrome is rarely kind on movie franchises, but there are times that you get lucky.

When the first few trailers came out for Iron Man 3, I have to admit that I wasn't at all excited. I had definitely enjoyed the first movie and the sequel was still entertaining even if the villains weren't too amazing. But this third movie, well, I was more than just surprised. I was definitely impressed.

What has worked the most for this entire movie franchise all the way to The Avengers movie is Robert Downey, Jr. What started out as a rather amusing casting choice turned into an unforgettable role that I doubt anyone else can truly bring to life the way he has. So it didn't really matter how some of his past adversaries have been a little or even lackluster, this Tony Stark was more than ready to talk his way through (or even out of) every challenge.

And should this become the last Iron Man movie for Robert Downey, Jr., well, it's certainly a good way to cap off his run.

If you found the Multiply embed shakey, you'll need to watch this at YouTube directly for now until I can find an alternative source. The original user disabled embedding on the video. =P

[Comics] Iron Man Trailer

Hello everybody, I'm Q the Conqueror, author of The Quixotic Quests of Q the Conqueror. Like Rocky said, I'm gonna be handling the comics section of the Geeky Guide. I joined because I needed an outlet for my more serious comic-related articles, which would be out of place in my blog and I thank Rocky for giving me a place where I can talk about them.

You can look forward to instructions on how to download comics, learning why comics are just as important as novels, comic-based movie trailers and news, as well as reviews of graphic novels I have read and where these graphic novels could be found in the net. If you've got any requests, you can e-mail me at Qtheconqueror@gmail.com.

Anyway, what follows is a trailer of the Iron Man movie which will be out on May 2008. It was released at the San Diego Comic Con, and was subsequently posted at Youtube. However, the video was removed from Youtube after Paramount complained about copyright laws.

"Based upon Marvel's iconic Super Hero, Iron Man tells the story of Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. Instead, using his intelligence and ingenuity, Tony builds a high-tech suit of armor and escapes captivity. Upon his return to America, Tony must come to terms with his past. When he uncovers a nefarious plot with global implications, he dons his powerful armor and vows to protect the world as Iron Man."

The cast includes, from left to right, Terrence Howards as Jim Rhodes, Stark's friend and military liaison; Gwyneth Paltrow as a Virginia Potts, Stark's Secretary; Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man; and Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane.
