If you visit the Google Talk page directly, you'll notice the new button in the image above - the option to immediately load a Google Talk window without the need to download the client or to add the gadget to your personalized homepage or blog. It's a logical next step for Google Talk given how robust the functionality of gadget.
There are a host other other features added like the ability to preview Flickr slideshows along with Picasa just by pasting the URL into your chat window.
It's a lot more convenient than the homepage gadget since it stands on its own and works a lot faster than most other web-based IM tools provided on the market today. Don't worry - if you already have the gadget on your page you can get this same interface by linking the new popup button made available.
