Tobie called my attention to this 2004 video from Japan that is making the social media rounds again for one reason or another. I feel like I had a similar rope and ring brain puzzle in my grade school years when I was super into puzzle devices, magic tricks and other curiosities. This isn't quite exactly like that puzzle but the principle of the solution is largely the same.

But yeah, it was rather cute that the guy actually wrote-in to a TV show just to get the solution for this thing. One can only imagine how frustrating it must have been for him to have this and not have a way to solve it. So I do hope this Japanese man was happy with the solution in the end.
