[Movies] Flushed Away

Flushed AwayFlushed Away is a fun animated comedy from the makers of Shrek and Wallace and Gromit animated films. The film is voiced by some higher profile actors like Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet and is rather funny.

At first I wasn't too keen on seeing the movie since it seemed like just another kiddie movie - the sort of animated film that joins many others in congesting the media market out there with more CGI-animated films trying to win a small portion of the children's movie market to little success. When I did get to see it, I immediately regretted my initial assessment and reminded myself that it's really a bad idea to judge a film before actually seeing it.

What makes the movie so much fun is not the crisp animation or the somewhat simplistic storyline but the almost never-ending stream of tongue-in-cheek British humor littered throughout the film. You need to be smart and more importantly fast in order to catch all the jokes, puns and barbs here and there. Plugs the slugs are really funny, haha. Believe me, the slugs really steal the show.

This is just the sort of movie to watch when you're tired from too much thinking and all you want to do is laugh at the lowest form of humor available as long as it doesn't insult your intelligence. Enter - Flushed Away.
