The Malate Business Association is holding the 1st Orosa Nakpil Food Festival on March 16, April 6 and April 20, 2013. Participating establishments will each have outdoor stalls setup to feature specialty dishes by the restaurant and bar owners and their respective chefs. There is no entrance fee for the festival itself but prevailing cover charges for individual bars will still apply.
This is part of the MBA's larger efforts to "revive" the Malate Orosa-Nakpil scene and its former Bohemian culture. I suppose you could consider this somewhat ironic given my recent blog post about how the Malate scene feels dead to me. The event is not strictly for any one segment of the population (LGBT or otherwise) so you're free to bring whomever you want to the fair. There is also word of a street bazaar of other items of interest to round out the festival.
