[GeekyCast] My Book Collection

Today I just wanted to talk about my book collection as any proud geek would talk about the closest thing he has to children. I tried to take the time to describe what I liked about each series but then I found myself simply enumerating the titles given how many books I wanted to cover and how much time I limit myself to in terms of these GeekyCasts.

Do we share book interests? Then don't be afraid to leave a comment, IM a message or email me! Let's talk books and totally geek out over our favorite fandoms! I would love to hear from you.

You can also view my library over on Shelfari for a more detailed listing of my titles. It helps to sort them by author.

Read on!

  1. Hey Book Fiend:

I used to be a book fiend, a cd fiend, & a dvd fiend, but over the last two years, I have slowed down a bit with cds & books --- not dvds though. Back in the day, I used to have all first edition hardback copies of the Dune series (during my five year fanaticism Science Fiction period) but I gave them away --- everytime, I enter a new phase, I tend to give away the relics of the previous. Anyway, you have a very interesting collection -- have you read The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula Le Guin or any of Harlan Ellison's short stories? They may be hard to find, but they are really worth reading. How about anything by Christopher Rice? --- I think he's much better than his mother.

  2. Hi Pat!

Thanks for the comment. People keep recommending Ursula Le Guin to me (and some have said my short story attempt sounds like her at times) but I've yet to get around to trying that out. Lemme finish out the existing collections before I start a new one...as if I'll be able to resist a new series, haha.

I've only found one book by Christopher Rice and I've yet to read it but my partner did and he enjoyed it a lot.

Thanks for the insights, as always.
