[Philippines] Bantay Bilang

With the Philippine National Elections just a few weeks away (heck, hardly even that), calls for vigilance are going out along with the usual flurry of poll watchers.

I received this via email through my Atenean network of contacts and I figured it would be a good thing for folks to get involved with. The details are as follows:

Bantay Bilang (Namfrel Parallel Count 2007) needs your valuable assistance for the following:

1) Food for 10 days (May 14-23) for 100 volunteers - breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner
"Standby Food" - bread, cup noodles, coffee, water

2) Funds
a. operational materials - manila paper, pentel pens, ballpens, bond paper, etc.
b. cellphone expenses for coordination with Namfrel National contacting volunteers, etc.
c. payment for overtime of Ateneo personnel, job orders for various needs

Operations will go on for 24 hours a day, from Monday, May 14 until Wednesday, May 23.
Headquarters will be in the Manuel V Pangilinan Center for Student Leadership while encoding will be done in the Faura Building.
