[Entertainment] I Don't Want Blake to Win AI

Flickr: ariffjrs - 7.09pm..21st March 2007 ...ren watching LIVE AMERICAN IDOL..

I don't want Blake Lewis to win American Idol. What? Blasphemy you say? Before you start forming a lynch mob, allow me to explain why I'm said that...

Don't get me wrong - I'm practically read to marry Blake. I love him to bits. Besides the fact that he's rather cute, I really believe in his singing ability and I think with the right manager, he's going to get pretty far in the world as an entertainer. He's amazingly charming and he's daring enough to experiment and try new things with how he handles music. Oh, and he dances too, haha.

It is precisely because of my overwhelming respect and admiration for Blake that makes me want him to lose American Idol. Whoever wins AI is going to get trapped in a record deal with them and that is bound to limit his creativity and will prevent him from attaining his full potential. I think it'll be a lot better for him not to win and be free to explore on his own. That way, he'll retain the option of choosing his own music, controlling most of the creative process and continue to be all the Blake that he can be, haha.

Think about it - it will be worlds better if he remains an independent artists, free to make his brand of music and show the world just what it means to be Blake Lewis, haha. Now THAT would be cool.

  1. Hey rOcky. I didn't know you're a Blaker. My prediction: It'll be Blake and a girl in the final two with the girl winning.

  2. haha, well who else would I go for? =P

of course i'm thinking the same thing, and more than likely it's going to be the technically proficient Melinda.

I still hope he doesn't get locked into a contract. You become so much more successful faster if you don't win Idol, haha

  3. Well, not necessarily. Because for every Clay Aiken and Chris Daughtry (successful non-winners), there's a
Justin Guarini, Diana Degarmo and Bo Bice (unsuccessful non-winners).

And for every Ruben Studdard, Fantasia, and Taylor Hicks (flops), there's a Kelly Clarkson and a Carrie Underwood (hitmakers).

It's really hard to predict who the fickle audience will go for outside Idol.

Anyway, may the best boy/girl win! :)

  4. haha, true enough although on average those non-winners who do become sucessful come into their own much faster than the successful winners. just look how long it took kelly clarkson to get anywhere, eh?

either way, we're still going to keep watching the darn show. =P
