This infographic was emailed to me a few weeks back by Open-Site.org and it's only now that I really had a chance to review the graphic and what it had to say. And the irony is not lost on me that today the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 goes into full effect (pending the various TRO petitions floating around the Supreme Court as of the time this post is being drafted) just when I publish this.
If things continue on their current track and the law is not at the very least amended do you think that we'll find the Philippines on this list of countries that control the internet to the point of it becoming censorship? Hence this is one of the many reasons that I support the efforts to stop the law from trampling over our rights to free expression in line with groups like the Philippine Internet Freedom Alliance (PIFA).
